RENO, Nev., Jan 17: Advanced Refining Concepts, LLC (ARC) is excited to announce the upcoming launch of two groundbreaking application-specific diesel fuels, GDiesel Lightning and GDiesel Thunder, set for commercial release before mid-year.
After four years of intensive research and development, these new fuels are tailored for urban and long-range diesel engine applications.
Revolutionizing Urban Diesel Operations
GDiesel Lightning is engineered for urban environments, ideal for start-stop operations such as city buses, delivery vehicles, passenger cars, and light trucks. This lighter fuel offers a quicker ignition, enhancing responsiveness and efficiency while significantly reducing visible smoke and regulated emissions by over 35%. Designed for exceptional cold-weather performance without additives, GDiesel Lightning promises to transform urban driving experiences.
Powering Long-Distance and Heavy-Duty Applications
In contrast, GDiesel Thunder is a heavier fuel with higher energy content, suitable for on-highway, agricultural, stationary power, rail, and marine uses. This fuel maximizes efficiency by 5-10%, lessens emissions, and reduces engine wear during steady engine operations. Its improved cetane and lubricity make it an ideal choice for reliable performance in demanding conditions.
Innovative Development at a Historic Location
Both GDiesel Lightning and GDiesel Thunder were developed at ARC's state-of-the-art pilot production facility in Leuna, Germany, a site with historical significance as the birthplace of diesel fuel. "We went back to Germany to reinvent diesel fuel," said Peter Gunnerman, ARC's Managing Partner.
Meeting Regulatory Standards and Expanding Potential
These new fuels comply with current diesel regulatory standards, eliminating the need for modifications to engines or fueling infrastructure. This compliance will facilitate swift introduction in select areas through ARC's established licensees or future partners with robust distribution networks.
"Engine manufacturers are strained to enhance efficiency and emissions from standard diesel. It's time to rethink the fuel component," Gunnerman emphasized. "It has never made sense to believe one diesel fuel could serve all engine types and operating cycles effectively."
Environmental Benefits and Future Prospects
The innovative processes behind GDiesel Lightning and GDiesel Thunder also extend to renewable diesel applications. Both petroleum and bio-based versions can serve as next-generation blend stocks, enhancing biodiesel blend ratios and efficiency across various climates.
"Cost savings and environmental benefits were our top priorities during the design process," Gunnerman added. "Moreover, GDiesel Lightning and GDiesel Thunder inject excitement into the diesel driving experience."
