The theme for this year's competition was "Discover, Shop & Support Your Local Community," and the response has been exceptional.

Celebrating Artistic Talent

The competition received an overwhelming number of submissions, showcasing the remarkable talent and creativity of Canadian artists. Sherilyn King, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service at Yellow Pages, expressed her admiration for the entries, stating, "The emotional connection that these artists feel toward their local communities and the businesses that are the backbone of Canada was evident through their pieces of art."

Brenda Turnour has been named the first winner of the 2025 Yellow Pages Directory Cover Competition. A fourth-generation artist, Turnour began her artistic journey at the young age of 12 when she sold her first oil painting. Since then, she has dedicated herself to painting, teaching, and judging art. Currently, she operates a gallery and studio in Huntsville, Ontario.

A Community Collaboration

In addition to Turnour's achievement, Yellow Pages would like to highlight the efforts of Shannon Delaney and Sophie Paisley from Ladysmith Arts Elementary School in British Columbia. Their students, aged six to eight, created a striking cardboard collage mural that embodies the spirit of their community. This collaborative artwork captures essential features representing Ladysmith, BC, further emphasizing the importance of local culture and creativity.

Prize and Future Opportunities

As part of her prize, Brenda Turnour's artwork will be prominently featured on the front cover of selected Yellow Pages print directories distributed across Canada from January to June 2025.
