This is absolutely heartbreaking 💔 Three children and a whole family visiting from Spain... My thoughts are with all the victims' loved ones. The Hudson should be a place of joy, not tragedy.

I work near Pier 40 and saw all the emergency response. The NYPD and first responders were on scene incredibly fast. Hoping we get answers soon about what caused this terrible accident.

As someone from Spain, this hits particularly hard. That poor family was probably just trying to enjoy the NYC sights. The helicopter tours should have stricter safety measures in questionable weather.

The article mentions winds up to 25 mph - that seems significant for a small helicopter? I wonder if the pilot underestimated the conditions. Either way, such a devastating loss of life.

Respectful criticism: The article could provide more context about helicopter safety records in NYC. How often do these accidents happen? Are there enough regulations for tourist flights over water?

My heart breaks for those children. Can't imagine what their parents went through in those final moments. The Statue of Liberty tour is supposed to be magical, not tragic. 😢
