Over 1,074 crores extended to States under Silk Samagra-2: Centre

New Delhi, March 21: The Centre through the implementation of the Silk Samagra-2 scheme has extended support for the development of the sericulture industry in the country and to increase the productivity and livelihoods of silk farmers and weavers, Pabitra Margherita, the Minister of State for Textiles, said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Friday.

EU, Ministry of Textiles launch 7 projects to strengthen India's textile and handicraft industry

New Delhi, February 16: The European Union (EU) and the Ministry of Textiles jointly launched seven new projects to boost India's textile and handicraft sector, on the sidelines of ongoing Bharat Tex on Saturday. These seven projects, spanning the entire value chain, will be implemented in nine states of India: Assam, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jharkhand and Bihar.
