Centre launches new schemes to speed up R&D in steel sector
New Delhi, March 12: The Steel Research Technology Mission of India (SRTMI), a joint initiative of the Indian steel industry and academia supported by the Ministry of Steel, launched three new R&D schemes and a web portal during the event “Catalyzing R&D in the Indian Steel Sector” at Vigyan Bhawan here on Wednesday.

Companies have committed investment of Rs 27,106 crore under PLI scheme for specialty steel, says Union Minister
New Delhi, February 7: Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for specialty steel was launched with the objective of attracting investment to boost the production of value-added steel in the country and participating companies committed to an investment of Rs. 27,106 crore out of which Rs.18,848 crore has been achieved till December, 2024, the government informed Parliament on Friday.

New Delhi, January 17: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday announced that the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a package of Rs 11440 crore for the revival of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) -- the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
