Sagarmala has expanded India's port capacity by 528 million tons a year: Minister

New Delhi, April 1: As many as 272 projects, worth around Rs. 1.41 lakh crores, have been completed under the Centre’s flagship Sagarmala programme out of which 103 completed projects under the "modernisation pillar" have resulted in expanding the country’s port capacity by more than 528 million tonnes per annum, the Parliament was informed on Tuesday.

Navika Sagar Parikrama II: Indian Navy's women officers reach Cape Town

Delhi, April 1: Navika Sagar Parikrama II, an expedition undertaken by two women officers of the Indian Navy, Lt Cdr Dilna K and Lt Cdr Roopa A, reached Cape Town, South Africa, on Monday. AFSPA withdrawn from Dibrugarh, three Assam districts remain under it

Guwahati, March 31: The Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) has been withdrawn from Assam's Dibrugarh district, as per a government order. However, AFSPA will remain in effect for an additional six months in the Tinsukia, Charaideo, and Sivasagar districts due to ongoing security concerns.

Exercise 'Sagar Kavach' concludes along West Bengal coast

The exercise, named 'Sagar Kavach', was coordinated by the commander, Coast Guard Region North East, while the State Coastal Security Operation Centre (SCSOC) at Headquarters Coast Guard District No 8 was the nerve centre.

New Delhi, February 18: The Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini entered Port Stanley at about 05:15 hours Indian Standard Time (IST) on February 18, completing the third and most challenging phase of Navika Sagar Parikrama II, a pioneering expedition showcasing the resilience, courage, and skill of the Indian Navy's women officers, said an Indian Navy statement on Tuesday.
