Centre has spent Rs 1.78 lakh crore on water harvesting schemes under MNREGA: Minister
New Delhi, March 21: The Centre has incurred a total expenditure of Rs. 1.78 lakh crore on water conservation and water harvesting works being built through the rural job scheme being implemented under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), the Parliament was informed on Friday.
4,928 villages declared Adarsh Gram, over 4.2 lakh beneficiaries benefited this fiscal
New Delhi, March 19: As many as 4,928 villages have been declared as Adarsh Gram and 4,25,821 beneficiaries have benefited this fiscal to date, which has led to socio-economic development by ensuring adequate infrastructure and requisite services in the SC-dominated villages, the government informed the Parliament on Wednesday.

New Delhi, Feb 7: In order to achieve the objective of 'housing for all" in rural areas, a cumulative target of 3.79 crore houses have been allotted to states/UTs (till February 2), out of which 3.34 crore houses have been sanctioned and 2.69 crore houses have been completed, the government informed on Friday.
