KIPG 2025: SAI Gandhinagar powerlifters dominate by bagging 10 medals

New Delhi, March 28: Powerlifting athletes from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) in Gandhinagar put up a strong show in the second Khelo India Para Games which concluded on Thursday. The NCOE campers secured 10 medals, including seven gold, in the para-powerlifting competition held at the JLN Stadium complex.

New Delhi, March 26: The powerlifting competition came to an end at the Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) 2025 with former KIPG medallists making their mark on Wednesday. Over the course of the three days of competitions, the para powerlifting saw four national records being set by Jaspreet Kaur (45 kg), Manish Kumar (54 kg), Seema Rani (61 kg), and Jhandu Kumar (72 kg), as per the KIPG press release.

New Delhi, March 23: The fourth day of the second edition of the Khelo India Para Games saw Punjab's powerlifter Jaspreet Kaur grab the headlines. Jaspreet became the first athlete in KIPG 2025 to break a national record. In the 45 kg category, the 31-year-old lifted 101 kg to claim the gold medal at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium complex on Sunday, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said in a release.
