Implementation of CBSE pattern will be fatal to classical language Marathi, culture, and tradition: Supriya Sule

Mumbai, March 21: NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule on Friday took strong objection to the Maharashtra School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse's announcement for implementing the CBSE pattern from the academic year 2025-26 for Class 1 in government schools, saying that it will be fatal to the classical language Marathi, culture, and tradition and urged the decision be reconsidered as it has been made without taking the stakeholders into confidence.

New Delhi, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the Marathi language became a proclamation of liberation from invaders during centuries of oppression. Besides, Marathi language and literature have opened the doors of social emancipation for the oppressed and deprived sections of society while highlighting the contributions of great social reformers such as Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, Maharshi Karve, and Babasaheb Ambedkar, who nurtured new age thinking in Marathi.

Maharashtra govt makes speaking Marathi compulsory in govt offices

Mumbai, February 3: The Maharashtra government on Sunday issued an order to enforce the use of Marathi in government offices. All employees in government, semi-government offices, corporations and other government-related offices have been instructed to use Marathi with all the visitors in their offices except visitors from out of India and from other non-Marathi speaking states.

Promoting language: Marathi now mandatory in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Feb 3: In a serious bid to promote, preserve, propagate, disseminate and develop the Maratha language, the Maharashtra government has made it mandatory to converse in the Marathi language in government, semi-government, local self-government institutions, government corporations, government-granted offices.
