Data-pooling with ILO shows 65 pc Indians get benefits under social protection schemes

New Delhi, March 25: India has made significant strides in enhancing its social protection coverage through a comprehensive data-pooling exercise in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO). The initiative has utilised encrypted Aadhaar as a unique identifier across 34 major Central schemes such as MGNREGA, EPFO, ESIC, APY, and PM-POSHAN to process over 200 crore records to identify unique beneficiaries, the Ministry of Labour announced on Tuesday.

EPFO achieves historic high of 2.16 crore auto-claims in FY25

New Delhi, March 17: EPFO achieved a historic high of 2.16 crore auto-claims settlement so far during the current financial year, up from 89.52 lakh in 2023-24, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Shobha Karandlaje informed Lok Sabha on Monday.

New Delhi, Feb 21: The payroll data of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) released on Friday show that as many as 17.01 lakh new employees were added in December 2024 while 20,360 new establishments were brought under the social security ambit of the ESI Scheme during the month, ensuring social security to more workers.
