New Delhi, March 7: Congress leader Harish Rawat claimed that ropeway projects to the Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib shrines were approved under former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government and had been "pending before the Centre since 2015."

New Delhi, March 5: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the Kedarnath ropeway project. The ropeway, with a total length of 12.9 kilometres, will come up with a monetary outlay of about Rs 4,081 crore.
