Orange alert in four districts of Himachal Pradesh; IMD issues alert for rain, snow

New Delhi, February 26: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall across Himachal Pradesh for the next three days. The IMD has also issued an orange alert for four districts in the state on February 27. Senior Scientist of the Shimla-based IMD, Sandeep Kumar Sharma, said that following a western disturbance, "rain and snow activity is increasing in Himachal Pradesh."

Himachal CM Sukhu announces upgradation of Kotla Police Post

Shimla, January 18: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his two-day visit to the Jawali assembly constituency in Kangra district, addressed a large public gathering in Jawali and announced the upgradation of the Kotla Police Post to a full-fledged police station, as per the official release.

Shimla, January 17: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday commenced his 10-day winter sojourn in Kangra district from Dharamshala. Due to inclement weather, his visit began a day late, and he reached Dharamshala at around 12:45 pm by helicopter from Shimla. During his sojourn, which will last until January 25, the Chief Minister will dedicate various development projects around Rs 675 crore for Kangra district.
