Deepfakes: Centre advises social media platforms to curb malicious 'synthetic media'
New Delhi, April 5: In an effort to address the harms and criminalities being committed through widespread circulation of misinformation and deepfakes powered by AI, the government has once again advised social media platforms on countering unlawful content, including malicious “synthetic media” to curb deepfakes and promptly remove harmful content online.
Broadband subscribers in India surge to over 94 cr, data usage doubles to 21.1 GB
New Delhi, April 2: India has witnessed a massive increase in broadband subscribers, growing from 66 crore to 94.49 crore, while the per capita average monthly wireless data consumption has also seen a sharp rise, doubling from 10 GB to 21.10 GB, the government said on Wednesday.
