Component PLI to further boost electronics exports, generate jobs
New Delhi, April 9: As smartphone exports surpassed Rs 2 lakh crore in FY25, with iPhones alone accounting for approximately Rs 1.5 lakh crore, the IT Ministry has notified the Rs 22,919 crore Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), marking a significant step towards strengthening India's position as a global hub for electronics manufacturing.
Deepfakes: Centre advises social media platforms to curb malicious 'synthetic media'
New Delhi, April 5: In an effort to address the harms and criminalities being committed through widespread circulation of misinformation and deepfakes powered by AI, the government has once again advised social media platforms on countering unlawful content, including malicious “synthetic media” to curb deepfakes and promptly remove harmful content online.
