India's coal Imports decline by 3.1 pc during April-October as local production rises
New Delhi, Jan 13: India's imports of high-quality coal declined by 3.1 per cent in the first seven months (April-October) of FY 2024-25 to 149.39 million tonnes (MT), compared to 154.17 MT during the same period in the previous year, due to the increase in domestic production, the Ministry of Coal said on Tuesday.

New Delhi, January 4: The Ministry of Coal on Saturday stated that the coal sector has achieves highest ever production and dispatch in Calendar Year 2024.According to the Coal Ministry coal production reached an all-time high of 1,039.59 million tonnes (MT) (provisional) in 2024, marking a significant 7.28 per cent growth compared to the previous year's total of 969.07 MT.
