Indian Army organises special cataract eye surgery camp for ex-servicemen and others

New Delhi, March 22: A special cataract eye surgery camp is being held at 158 Base Hospital, Bengdubi Military Station. The camp was inaugurated by Lt Gen RC Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, on March 20 and is set to "restore vision" for over 350 veterans, dependents, and select civilians, Ministry of Defence said in an official statement.

Assam CM lays foundation for 50 bed critical care block at SM Dev Civil Hospital in Silchar

Silchar, March 19: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a 50-bed Critical Care Block at SM Dev Civil Hospital in Silchar in a move to strengthen healthcare facilities in the city. It may be noted that the critical care block, covering 6,335 sqm, will have ground plus four stories. The facility is expected to enhance critical care with an ICU, Operation Theatre, isolation wards, and pediatric care unit to cater to the diverse needs of the patients.
