IIT Guwahati researchers study effect of 3D printed concrete walls on building's thermal performance

New Delhi, April 24: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati researchers have studied the effect of lattice-patterned 3d-printed concrete walls on a building's thermal performance. The study, led by Dr Biranchi Panda, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, examines whether these specially designed walls can help regulate internal temperatures and improve the energy efficiency of buildings.

Indian scientists develop optical sensing platform to detect cholesterol

New Delhi, April 23: A team of interdisciplinary researchers at the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) in Guwahati, an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has developed an optical sensing platform for cholesterol detection, based on silk fibre functionalised using phosphorene quantum dots, it was announced on Wednesday.

Dibrugarh, March 21: The Assam cabinet has permitted shops in major cities of the state, Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Silchar to operate 24/7, with the aim of boosting economy to encourage trade, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. Liquor shops and bars in those cities have been exempt from this approval, with them operating the same times as before.
