India and Nepal agree to accelerate talks on stalled hydroelectric projects

Kathmandu, Feb 14: India and Nepal have agreed to resume talks on various mechanisms related to three multipurpose hydroelectric power projects - Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project, Saptakoshi High Dam Multipurpose Project and Sunkoshi Storage cum Diversion Scheme - the local media in Kathmandu reported on Friday following a meeting of the power exchange committee held in New Delhi, earlier this week.

India, Nepal set to hold power transmission discussions

Kathmandu, Feb 11: The energy secretaries of Nepal and India are meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday as both neighbouring countries focus on building at least five cross-border transmission lines in order to generate at least 16,000 megawatts of power by 2035.

Israel Signs Energy Agreement with Ethiopia

Jerusalem, February 6: Israel's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Eli Cohen signed an agreement with his Ethiopian counterpart, the Minister of Energy and Water of Ethiopia Habtamu Itefa Geleta, to promote cooperation between the countries in the fields of energy, water and innovation. Ethiopia has a population of 130 million, and its economy is one of the largest in Africa.
