5G services now available in 773 out of 776 districts across India, 4.69 lakhs 5G BTS installed by Feb: Centre

New Delhi, March 12: Fifth Generation or 5G services have been rolled out in all States/ UTs across the country and are currently available in 773 out of 776 districts, including Lakshadweep, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.In reply to a question in the lower house, MoS informed that as of February 28 in the current year, 4.69 lakhs 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) had been installed by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) across the country.

Sharing his vision on a thematic session titled I-Way to Viksit Assam as a part of Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit at Khanapara Veterinary College field in Guwahati on Tuesday in the presence of Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia, Chief Minister Sarma said that Assam is fully ready to be a strong stakeholder in the digital revolution with the active support of Government of India.

SECL's Dipka megaproject begins coal dispatch from new silos

New Delhi, February 22: SECL's (Coal India subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited ) Dipka Megaproject successfully commenced operations by loading the first coal rake from its newly built Rapid Loading System and Silos 3 and 4 on 21st February 2025, Ministry of Coal said in a release.The Ministry said that the commencements of operations mark a major step in boosting eco-friendly and efficient coal transportation.

Tripura CM Manik Saha calls on Union Minister Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, February 16: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha called Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday to discuss key state-related issues, including advanced weather forecasting, administrative matters and boosting the bamboo industry. The meeting also touched upon the recently inaugurated Agartala-Akhaura railway link, strengthening connectivity between India's Northeast and Bangladesh, the Ministry of Science and Technology said in an official statement.
