Centre launches new schemes to speed up R&D in steel sector

New Delhi, March 12: The Steel Research Technology Mission of India (SRTMI), a joint initiative of the Indian steel industry and academia supported by the Ministry of Steel, launched three new R&D schemes and a web portal during the event “Catalyzing R&D in the Indian Steel Sector” at Vigyan Bhawan here on Wednesday.

FAME India Phase-II Scheme supports over 16.14 lakh EVs: Centre

Total number of EVs registered on e-Vahan portal goes up to 56.75 lakh

New Delhi, Feb 11: The number of electric vehicles (EVs) registered on the e-Vahan portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has gone up to 56.75 lakh as of February 8 this year, while the total registered vehicles are 3,897.71 lakhs, Minister of State for Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma informed the Lok Sabha on Monday.

SAIL capex outlay hiked to Rs 7,500 crore for 2025-26

Companies have committed investment of Rs 27,106 crore under PLI scheme for specialty steel, says Union Minister

New Delhi, February 7: Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for specialty steel was launched with the objective of attracting investment to boost the production of value-added steel in the country and participating companies committed to an investment of Rs. 27,106 crore out of which Rs.18,848 crore has been achieved till December, 2024, the government informed Parliament on Friday.
