Belgium closely following Mehul Choksi case, says government spokesperson

Brussels, March 26: The Belgian government is closely monitoring the case of fugitive Indian businessman Mehul Choksi, emphasising that it is being handled with significant attention, according to David Jordens, Spokesperson and Head of Service for social media and press at Belgium's Federal Public Service (FPS) Foreign Affairs.

New Delhi, March 23: Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in India for his alleged involvement in a Rs 13,500-crore bank loan fraud, was previously believed to be residing in Antigua and Barbuda before reportedly travelling and residing in Antwerp, Belgium, with his wife, Preeti Choksi, after obtaining a residency card, according to a media report.

Chet Greene Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, while on a visit to India called upon Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Government of India at his office at Shram Shakti Bhawan on Friday, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said in a release on Saturday.

New Delhi, March 19: Chet Greene, the Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, informed on Wednesday that Mehul Choksi, the fugitive Indian businessman, is currently not on the island.
