Assam: Aaranyak organises exposure visits for human-elephant conflict-affected communities
Guwahati, April 10: Aaranyak, a wildlife NGO based in Guwahati, recently organised an exposure visit for the local community members from villages affected by human-elephant conflict (HEC) in eastern Assam and West Garo Hills in Meghalaya, within the Kaziranga-Karbi Anglong landscape of Assam.

Guwahati, March 30: As part of its sustained community-centric efforts for mitigation of Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) and facilitating coexistence in HEC-affected areas, premier biodiversity conservation organization Aaranyak has recently installed 25 solar street lights (SSL) in certain HEC hotspots in Goalpara district of Assam and West Garo Hills (WGH) district of Meghalaya.
Assam: Forest department deploys sniffer dog in LBWLS with Aaranyak's support
Guwahati, March 21: In pursuant of its sustained efforts to complement enforcement agencies' action to prevent wildlife crimes and facilitate synergised action, premier biodiversity conservation organisation Aaranyak has helped the Assam Forest Department deploy a unit of anti-poaching K9 dogs along with a trained handler in rhino-bearing Laokhowa-Burhachapori Wildlife Sanctuary (LBWLS) in Nagaon district of Assam.
Solar fence energized at Goalpara to secure households in human-elephant conflict situation
Guwahati, March 14: A two-kilometer-long solar-powered fence has been energized at Lahapara revenue village in Assam's Goalpara district and handed over to the local community in order to secure the lives and property of about 450 villagers from 70 households of the dominant Rabha tribe community in a human-elephant conflict (HEC) situation.

Guwahati, March 5: A biodiversity conservation organisation, Aaranyak, has revealed a concerning increase in human-wildlife conflict (HWC) in the Majuli River Island district of Assam compared to previous years. Rhinos, wild buffaloes, wild boars, elephants, and even tigers frequently damage crops and livestock in the areas covered under the study, said the organisation.
