Dehradun, January 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, today. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has welcomed PM Modi, calling his arrival an "unforgettable and proud moment for every player."

In a post on X, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "Hearty welcome and congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji on his arrival in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand for the inauguration ceremony of the 38th National Games! The arrival of the respected Prime Minister on the land of Uttarakhand on this historic occasion is an unforgettable and proud moment for every player."
He also asserted that due to the efforts of PM Modi, the country's awareness of sports has increased.
"The efforts of the Prime Minister have increased awareness of sports in the country and the young generation has got a big platform to showcase their talent. Under his guidance, India has achieved significant success in many sports on the global stage," CM Dhami said.
According to an official release, the Prime Minister will travel to Dehradun in Uttarakhand and at around 6 PM, he will inaugurate the 38th National Games.
It is being hosted in Uttarakhand during its Silver Jubilee year and will be held in 11 cities across eight districts of Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14.
In a self-made video, CM Dhami emphasized that all the preparations have been completed by the state government for hosting the National Games.
"Uttarakhand has the privilege of hosting the 38th National Games, and all the preparations for this event have been completed by the state government. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this event will prove to be a golden chapter in the field of sports for our state. This historic event to be held from 28 January to 14 February will inspire our youth towards sports as well as encourage competition and collective spirit in them," he said.
"I urge all of you to actively participate in this event and make your invaluable contribution to making this event a success by encouraging our players," CM Dhami added.
