The Australian actress spoke at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas. Kidman admitted it's time for a break after releasing Expats, A Family Affair, The Perfect Couple, Spellbound, Babygirl, and season two of Lioness in the previous year, according to People.

"I was much more out there last year; this year I have Holland, I have Nine Perfect Strangers, and then I'm off for the rest of year. So, oh well!" she said.

In the Prime Video mystery thriller Holland, which premiered at SXSW, Kidman plays a teacher in the small midwestern town of Michigan. Suspecting her husband (Matthew Macfadyen) of living a double life, Kidman's character and her friend (Gael Garcia Bernal) begin to investigate and uncover a twisted secret, as per the outlet.

As for season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, the Hulu series will see Kidman reprise her role as the wellness resort guru Masha Dmitrichenko while Murray Bartlett, Christine Baranski, Henry Golding and more join the cast in new roles, reported People.

Kidman's hard work over the previous year has paid off, as she just received the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival's international star award for her performance in Babygirl. Kidman teared up after accepting the honour from Jamie Lee Curtis, dedicating it to her late mother, Janelle Ann Kidman.

"Thank you for giving me the chance to say, 'This is for my mom,' " she said as the audience erupted in applause. "My whole career has been for my mom and my dad, who are not here now. I'm still going to keep working and giving to the world because I love what I do and I love you all, and I'm so grateful for the privilege to be a part of the film community."

"I'm sorry that I'm crying, I didn't want to do that," Kidman continued. "But I feel my mom right now so this is for you," reported People.

Holland begins streaming on March 27 on Prime Video.
