Mumbai, Feb 12: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday announced Mumbai Tech Week- Asia's Largest AI event, assuring the state government's continued support. He also met the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM), saying that proposed event will solidify Mumbai's position as the 'AI Sandbox of Asia'.

The event, which is being organised by Maharashtra government in collaboration with TEAM, will take place from February 24 to March 1. The event aims to strengthen Mumbai's position as a hub for AI and technological innovation.

Fadnavis, in his post on X, said: "MumbAI is set to host a game-changing mega event where industry pioneers, tech innovators, media powerhouses, and sports visionaries will converge to redefine the AI landscape. This isn't just an event--it's a revolution! Experience the Innovation and Join the AI revolution."

The Chief Minister formally invited everyone to MTW 2025 via a video message, underscoring the government's commitment to the partnership with TEAM. He expressed his appreciation for TEAM's impact and efforts to develop Mumbai's tech landscape, noting their considerable growth to include over 65 founders of leading startups and unicorns, a combined valuation exceeding $60 billion, and a community of over 10,000 members.

"Mumbai has long been the bedrock of entrepreneurial activity, and the government, in partnership with TEAM, is committed to supporting new-age entrepreneurs building the city," he said.

Further, Fadnavis emphasised on the partnership and its focus on nurturing tech talent, building critical infrastructure and fostering innovation.

Recognising Mumbai as India's safest city for women, he stressed the importance of women's participation in tech and pledged support for related initiatives. The festival will focus on commercial applications of AI technology, new opportunities for startups, Indian AI research, investment and job opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The event is expected to open doors to opportunities in this field for technologists, researchers, and investors from India and abroad.
