A senior Jordanian lawyer sparked international controversy by deliberately placing the Israeli flag on the ground for people to step on. The Israeli Foreign Ministry immediately condemned the act as a dangerous provocation that could damage diplomatic relations. Israel formally protested through diplomatic channels and demanded the Jordanian government take decisive action. The incident highlights the ongoing fragile tensions between the two countries despite existing peace agreements.
