"The league is fantastic. It will help the players get the right kind of exposure. It's obviously the first year, so it's got a long way to go. The owners and organisers have been doing a great job with limited resources and making sure the players are taken care of. The league is on the right track," Patterson said, as quoted from a release by InBL.

Obviously, you want to see it grow. It's a great platform for the Indian basketball players to showcase their talent," he noted. So far, Patterson has played two games and scored 32 points, leading the Titans to a comfortable 95-79 victory over the Falcons. Lamar has also had an impact on the talented young players in the squad like Indian National Basketball Player Pranav Prince and Lokendra Singh.

According to Patterson, the league has immense potential to grow in a country that has a huge basketball playing population. The Mumbai Titans player feels that hosting the league in India will inspire young crop to take up the sport professionally.

"Moreover, having local Indian players featuring in this kind of a tournament gives the young kids who are watching the matches an opportunity to actually see it and visualize it in person. So, I think having the league here is great just for the youth," he added.

Titans are presently placed at number 2 in the points table with eight wins in 7 matches. However, the Punjab Warriors, Hyderabad Falcons, Gujarat Stallions and Chennai Heat are also tied with the Titans on points, setting up an exciting finish for the league stage.

"It has been a very competitive league and, in my opinion, the next step can be travelling to different cities and building a fan base. You can have the teams in their specific cities and have a fan base and travel around India and play games in front of all the different fans," he signed off.
