New York, 16 Jan: The Dana Foundation has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Hewitt to its board of directors, bolstering its leadership in the intersection of neuroscience and societal benefit.
Expertise in Finance and Governance
Elizabeth Hewitt brings a wealth of experience in finance, particularly in investment strategy and governance. With years of overseeing the investment strategies of private foundations, her skills are expected to significantly enhance the Foundation's mission of supporting neuroscience initiatives that reflect the aspirations of diverse communities.

A Proven Track Record
Currently serving as chief investment officer at Miras, an institutional family office, Hewitt manages asset allocation strategy, fund manager selection, and portfolio performance evaluation. Her previous roles include a tenure as CIO and senior vice president at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and managing director of public investments at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, where she played a key role in investment selection and risk assessment.
Hewitt's extensive background also includes positions at Lazard Asset Management, The Torrey Funds, and U.S. Trust Corporation. She earned an MA in economics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
Commitment to Community Engagement
In addition to her financial acumen, Hewitt is an active community member, having served as a trustee for The Madeira School and currently sitting on the boards of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
