Campaign to end Naxalism in Chhattisgarh moving towards success: BJP

The BJP is reporting significant progress in its campaign against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, over 300 Naxal militants have been neutralized in just 13 months. The government has set an ambitious target to completely eliminate Naxalism by 2047, marking a strategic shift in counter-insurgency efforts. Recent encounters in Bijapur and Kanker-Narayanpur regions have been described as major successes by state leaders.

New Delhi, March 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brijmohan Agarawal on Thursday stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and guidance of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, the campaign to end Naxalism in Chhattisgarh was moving in the direction of success.

"Under the leadership of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and guidance of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, the campaign that is underway in Chhattisgarh to end the naxalism is moving in the direction of success," the BJP MP said, speaking to ANI.

Further, the BJP MP stated that in 13 months, more than 300 Naxals had been killed.

"In the last 13 months, more than 300 Naxalists have been killed. Naxalism is the biggest hindrance in the development of this state and country," he further added.

Earlier on Thursday, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao stated that the state government had been working towards eliminating Naxalites.

Further, he stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had resolved to eliminate Naxalism by 2047.

Speaking to ANI, Sao said, "This is a big success for the soldiers. Ever since our government was formed, we have been working towards eliminating the Naxalites. Under the leadership of PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah has resolved to completely eliminate Naxalism by 2047. Killing 30 Naxalites today is a big step towards fulfilling that resolve."

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma stated that neutralising Naxals in the encounter was a big success for the soldiers.

"The encounter was going on in the Gangaloor area of Bijapur since morning. 26 Naxalites have been killed in the encounter. Four more Naxalites have been killed in the encounter in the Kanker-Narayanpur border area. A total of 30 Naxalites have been killed in the encounter. This is a big success for the soldiers," Sharma told ANI.
