Taking to X, Sarma wrote: “Just concluded the first ever conference of District Commissioners and Co-District Commissioners. This is an excellent platform to deploy a whole-of-government approach on key flagship initiatives to ensure last mile delivery. Today’s conference comes a day after #AssamBudget2025, wherein I have instructed our administration to implement all budgetary announcements and build on the gains of #AdvantageAssam2.”
In a recent series of deliberations, the Assam government has outlined several crucial focus areas to accelerate development and improve welfare measures across the state.
The meeting emphasised progress in social welfare schemes, housing initiatives, and public health strategies.
Sarma said: “The state administration has been working to enhance financial support for pregnant women in the state's tea gardens. This initiative aims to ensure improved maternal healthcare and address the economic challenges faced by tea garden communities. By providing financial aid, the government seeks to reduce maternal mortality rates and improve overall well-being in these vulnerable sectors.”
The meeting stressed the need to expedite the geo-tagging process under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Geo-tagging ensures transparency and allows real-time monitoring of housing projects. Accelerating this process will help streamline the identification and completion of homes for eligible beneficiaries, ensuring faster access to housing for underprivileged families.
“The state government has prioritised the timely execution of Mission Basundhara 3.0, a flagship initiative aimed at resolving land-related issues. The focus remains on fast-tracking land ownership verification, land record digitization, and related services. This time-bound approach seeks to provide citizens with quicker solutions to their land concerns,” the CM stated.
Meanwhile, to ensure efficient implementation of welfare schemes such as the Orunodoi scheme and the Chief Minister Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, the government is adopting streamlined processes.
“Additionally, the distribution of 5 lakh gamosas, a symbol of Assamese pride and tradition, will be conducted in an organized manner to celebrate Assam's cultural heritage,” he stated.
