Gurugram, Dec 17
Gurugram district administration on Tuesday directed private companies in Gurugram to allow work-from-home to their staff in view of the high level of air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, in his order issued under GRAP-4, has stated that private and corporate sector companies should allow work from home for their staff until further notice. The order specifies that, in compliance with the restrictions of GRAP-4, instructions have been given to conduct classes in hybrid mode in all schools, except for 10th and 12th grades.
Kumar has directed all concerned departmental officers to strictly implement the restrictions of GRAP-4 related to the fourth phase of measures in Delhi NCR, which were announced late on Monday night. Issuing the advisory in line with the instructions from the Air Quality Management Commission, Kumar emphasized that the district administration is making continuous efforts to reduce pollution.
The office timings for government employees have been adjusted; they are now required to report to work at 9:30 am and will provide their services until 5:30 pm. For employees in all municipal bodies, the start time is set at 8:30 am, with a return time of 4:30 pm.
All types of construction activities have been halted, and burning of garbage has been prohibited. The Deputy Commissioner, referencing the advisory from CAQM for citizens in the NCR region, urged that children, the elderly, and individuals suffering from respiratory, cardiac, cerebrovascular, or other chronic diseases should avoid outdoor activities.
These orders will remain in effect until the air quality improves. Companies are encouraged to comply and cooperate with the district administration in implementing these measures. Additionally, under the restrictions of GRAP-4, public and private construction and demolition activities—including highways and flyovers—will be banned in the district. There will also be a prohibition on vehicles carrying construction material on unpaved roads, along with a ban on open burning of garbage and the use of polythene and other polluting substances.
