Women hail PM Modi's 'Bima Sakhi Yojana' as a step towards economic independence

Panipat, Dec 9

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the LIC 'Bima Sakhi Yojana' at Haryana's Panipat. The main objective of the scheme is to empower women by making them self-reliant.

Under this initiative, women will be trained to become LIC agents, and they will receive a monthly amount of Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000, along with commissions on selling policies.

Women who attended the event expressed their happiness at the launch of the scheme, calling it a symbol of self-reliance for women.

One woman, after attending the programme, spoke to IANS and said: "PM Modi first saved daughters, then educated them, and now he is empowering them so that they can improve the lives of their families. Under this scheme, daughters will receive Rs 7,000 in the first year, Rs 6,000 in the second year, and Rs 5,000 in the third year. After that, the premium will continue. A daughter in this country will earn Rs 25,000-30,000 a month, and no one will be able to suppress her."

Local resident Rekha Setia said: "PM Modi started the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign from this very land nine years ago, and it was a huge success. Today, on December 9, he launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana from Panipat. This scheme will help women become self-reliant and manage their families well."

After the rally, another local woman said: "We are very happy about the launch of the Bima Sakhi Yojana. PM Modi starts every major scheme from Haryana, and we are proud that he has started this one here too. All of us women are here to support him. He is doing excellent work."

Another woman remarked: "I am very happy about this scheme. It will make women self-reliant. In the Prime Minister's programme, women participated enthusiastically. Through this scheme, women will feel empowered. Those who are sitting at home will also become self-reliant."

Another woman who participated in the programme, said: "This scheme will empower women by giving them a chance to earn their own income. Millions of women across the country will have the opportunity to become LIC agents under the Bima Sakhi scheme. The government will provide Rs 7,000 per month to these women in the first year.

"Moreover, they will receive commissions based on the insurance policies they sell. In the second year, they will receive Rs 6,000 per month, and Rs 5,000 in the third year. This scheme is a great initiative to make women self-reliant and help them stand on their own feet."
