Mithali Raj joins Andhra Cricket Association as a consultant in Women's Cricket Operations

ormer India women's team captain Mithali Raj has started a new innings, joining the Andhra Cricket Association as a consultant and mentor for Women's Cricket Operations. Mithali had announced her retirement from all formats of cricket in June 2022.

On Wednesday, she took to social media and announced the new chapter in her life after playing cricket.

"Excited to start a new chapter with the Andhra Cricket Association as a Consultant & Mentor for Women's Cricket Operations," Mithali announced her association on Linkedin.

Mithali, who holds many records in women's international cricket and played her last match for India -- an ODI match against South Africa -- on March 27, 2022, has already started her mentor's role with Andhra Cricket Association by attending time with the U-15 girls during their camp.

"Had an amazing time with the U-15 girls at the camp. Their energy and skill are a testament to the rising strength of women's cricket in Andhra Pradesh. The future is bright, and we're just getting started!" said Mithali in her post.

One of the legends of women's cricket, the 41-year-old Mithali Raj made her Test debut against England in January 2002 and ended up with 699 runs in 12 matches, scoring one hundred and four fifties. She has the highest score of 214 runs.

An all-format player, Mithali scored 7805 runs in 232 ODIs at an average of 50.68 while in WT20Is, the batter born to a Tamil family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, has scored 2364 runs in 89 matches.
