Budget 2024-25: Jyotiraditya Scindia praises Union Budget for development focus

New Delhi, July 23

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia lauded the Union Budget 2024-25, highlighting its alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Vikasit Bharat' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.

"The budget, drafted with 'Amritkaal' to 'Mission 2047' in mind, ensures comprehensive development across sectors such as agriculture, rural development, education, and healthcare," Scindia stated.

He commended PM Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their efforts, noting that the BSE Sensex has surged by 20,000 points over the past year and that India's economic growth has reached a record 8.2%.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also praised the budget, calling it an inclusive, development-oriented plan that meets the aspirations of India's 140 crore citizens.

"Under PM Modi's guidance, Finance Minister Sitharaman has presented a budget that offers unlimited potential for development, allocating Rs 1.52 lakh crore for farmers' prosperity and over Rs 3 lakh crore for women's empowerment," he said.

UP CM Adityanath expressed confidence that these measures would significantly benefit Uttar Pradesh, particularly welcoming the new tax slabs introduced in the budget for their positive impact on the state's economic landscape.

Labelling the budget as an economic document for creating a 'Developed India-Self-reliant India,' Adityanath emphasised its comprehensive approach to societal development, including provisions for villages, the poor, farmers, women, and youth.

"The budget embodies the spirit of Antyodaya, infinite development possibilities, and a vision for innovation," he wrote on X.

He extended heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi and Sitharaman for the public welfare budget, which he believes will help transform 'New India' into a $5 trillion economy and a global growth engine.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her budget presentation, allocated Rs 1.52 lakh crore to agriculture and allied sectors, with a strong focus on research and development. She announced substantial funding for R&D initiatives aimed at achieving self-reliance in oilseeds production, including mustard, groundnut, sesame, soybean, and sunflower.

"We will strengthen their production, storage, and marketing," she stated, outlining a three-year plan to facilitate digital public infrastructure for agriculture, aiming to cover farmers and their lands comprehensively. This initiative includes a digital crop survey for Kharif in 400 districts and the issuance of Jan-Samarth-based Kisan Credit Cards in five states.

Additionally, Sitharaman announced a new national cooperation policy to ensure the systematic, orderly, and all-round development of the cooperative sector, aimed at fast-tracking rural economic growth and generating large-scale employment opportunities.
