resh City, Toronto's leading provider of organic, sustainable and seasonal fresh food, announced today that its new store at the corner of Bay and Gerrard is now open to serve the grocery needs of thousands of front-line workers at nearby hospitals.

The store, situated at the base of The Livmore building, has scaled back the offering in light of risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Founder & CEO Ran Goel said Our purpose is to create a better life through food. At this unprecedented time, we want to make it easier for hospital workers and nearby residents to have safe access to food. This location is steps away from five iconic hospitals and opening now is one way that we can thank the hospital staff for everything they are doing.

Fresh City is pleased to offer all hospital workers a 10% discount on grab & go fresh prepared items and single beverages. It is the least we can do said Goel They are the ones who are putting themselves at risk and working overtime during this crisis. They are our #healthcareheroes.

Fresh City has opened with an assortment of fresh, organic produce, handmade and pre-packaged prepared foods, freshly baked bread & pastries from Mabel's Bakery, meat from The Healthy Butcher and drip coffee from Propeller Coffee. The store also features a natural health & wellness supplements section.

Exceptional sourcing standards is one of Fresh City's core values. They are committed to transparent sourcing of organic, sustainable and seasonal food from farmers, makers, and suppliers who make a positive impact on the local economy.

This new 5,500 square foot location will provide Torontonians a single destination for the best products that Fresh City, Mabel's Bakery & The Healthy Butcher have to offer. After we beat COVID-19, customers can look forward to a Healthy Butcher meat & fish counter, as well as a Mabel's service counter where they can purchase soups, paninis and sandwiches, as well as salads, side dishes and meals by weight said Goel.

This opening marks Fresh City's eighth location across all three brands under the company's umbrella. The open concept store was designed by Rochelle Moncarz of Snyder Architects and features a modern look with clean lines. Underground parking is available on site, making this bustling downtown location accessible to all.
