DEKRA Organizational Safety and Reliability Announces Winners of Fifth Annual 2020 Safety in Action Icon Awards

EKRA Organizational Safety and Reliability (OSR), a global leader in safety at work, has announced the three winners of its fifth annual Safety in Action Icon awards, that recognize workplace leaders, from frontline workers to CEOs, who make innovative contributions to organizational safety.
Workplace safety is critical to a company's success, which is why leaders who take the initiative to make lasting change in their culture deserve to be celebrated. We salute this year's winners as passionate advocates for protecting the safety of their co-workers, said Jim Spigener, Chief Client Officer for DEKRA OSR.
The fifth annual Safety in Action Icons are Andy Anderson, Senior VP of Operations for Aera Energy; Jose Rivera, Safety Advocate for Sempra Energy; and Robert Hudson, Employee Safety Facilitator for Huntsman Corporation.
For Anderson, the award recognizes the progress that Aera Energy has achieved in its safety transformation and in making safety a value that we live every day, he said. I am honored and humbled to receive this acknowledgement and be part of building a positive and inclusive safety culture.
According to Rivera, the award illuminates the important role that we all have as safety leaders. Leading, living and lighting the path to safety excellence is a lifelong commitment.
Words cannot describe my feelings about receiving this award. I am honored, humbled, and totally appreciative, said Hudson. All I ever wanted to do was make a positive difference. If the safety efforts that I put forth over the past 26 years saved a single person from being injured, my time was well spent.
Icon recipients will be formally recognized during the Safety in Action Conference, March 25-27, 2020, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Past winners of the Icon award represent some of the world's largest companies across a spectrum of industries including Koppers, Inc., Huntsman Corporation, PHI Inc., DSM Dyneema, Hexion Inc., Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., Shell Oil, and BNSF Railway.
