Arirang TV joins power influencers to produce a global commercial promoting prime tourist destinations

rirang TV has joined hands with 2020's leading global content creators to produce a commercial promoting prime tourism cities in Korea.

It will be shown on ASEAN TV channels. This project has selected cities that are prime tourist hubs that each possess their own local tourism brands, to foster them to become global tourist destinations.

In January 2020, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected Gangneung of Gangwon province, Jeonju of Jeonbuk province, Mokpo of Jeonnam province, and Andong of Gyeongbuk province as the prime tourist destination cities. Arirang TV has produced a video that promotes the tourism and culture in each of these four cities. This advertisement will not only target the Greater China area, but countries where the content creators are based, such as Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and more, where they connect with wide audiences through their HALLYU content. This promotion aims to raise global awareness of the these tourist cities and to spotlight their appeal.

'Episode Gangwon Gangneung' will cultivate the city's brand image with the theme Beautiful City, Gangneung. Gangneung is an Olympic city where tradition and the future exist in harmony, and is currently garnering much attention as a global tourism spot in the northeastern region of Korea.

Viewers can find the city's Olympic heritage in the 'New Gyeongpo District', which is also where Chodang Sundubu Village, Gangneung's top food destination, is located. At 'Gyeongpo Anmok Beach', follow the pine fields along the oceanside and immerse yourself in the sea and coffee culture. Experience traditional Korean culture at Ojukheon House and Gangneung Ojuk Hanok Village in 'Ojukheon District', and see the beauty of Gangneung at lifestyle and culture destinations in Gangneung's 'Old Town District', such as Wolhwa Street, and Gangneung Daedoho Government Office.

This spot features popular overseas HALLYU content creators Hansol Jang (Indonesia), Atom (Taiwan), Jessica Lee (Philippines), and To Ton Thanh (Vietnam). Gangneung's natural resources, including its clean seas and forests, tangible and intangible cultural assets, and its Olympic heritage will all showcase the region to the world.

'Episode Jeonbuk Jeonju' will introduce Jeonju, the most Korean city, and the beginning of the new HALLYU Wave. It will show top tourist sites in Jeonju such as Gyeonggijeon Shrine, the Hanok Village, and Cheongyeonru Pavilion. Audiences will be immersed in the culturally rich areas of Jeonju where you will be able to truly see and feel Korea's traditional colors and style.

In 'Episode Jeonju', we meet the popular content creator Yoora Han from Indonesia, popular ASEAN K-beauty and travel vlogger Anna, Hi Prae from Thailand who is active in Korean entertainment and dramas, and Lingo from Vietnam, who is popular on ASEAN for his travel content and Korean food mukbangs.

In 'Episode Jeonnam Mokpo', we take a retro trip back in time to a romantic city filled with style and flavor. This episode highlights a unique charm that can only be felt in Mokpo, and a retro travel experience to Mokpo's modern history and cultural spaces, such as the 1897 Open Port Cultural Street, Modern History Hall, and Kyungdong Catholic Church.

Mokpo is a city of style and flavor, where modern buildings have a nostalgic flair, and the sea and island come together to create a romantic landscape. It is a travel destination that men or women of any age or generation can enjoy. Filming locations for movies and dramas are also highly popular among foreign tourists, adding to the appeal of this retro journey.

In 'Episode Jeonnam Mokpo', we meet Thailand's Hi Prae, a witty talker who is brilliantly fluent in Korean, Vietnam's cute and lovely Mei Chan, Jessica from the Philippines, who exudes a fierce model vibe, and Malaysia's Sabrina, who's dance skills are as good as an idol girl group's moves. The theme of 'Episode Gyeongbuk Andong' is Royal Way Andong, the most Korean place in Korea. Andong, located in the center of the Northern Gyeongsang province, is a leisurely and beautiful town, just like the Nakdong River that flows through it. It is said to be the capital of Korean spirit and culture where history flows, and tourists can immerse themselves in the deep, rich heritage of Korea. This spot will highlight Royal Way Andong's various attractions that have been visited by world leaders to inspire and spark the interest of tourists.

In 'Episode Andong', we will meet Sophie from China, Vivian, who creates beauty, lifestyle, and travel content, NiNi, who is widely loved for her lifestyle and makeup content, and the highly popular Kang-sul. Together, these China-based influencers travel to Andong, a world heritage city, in hopes to show audiences what really great traveling is.

This advertisement will spotlight the charms and characteristics of these prime tourism cities, and offer a solution to de-stress in the forthcoming period of recovery from COVID-19. A boost in the local economies can also be anticipated by attracting tourists from all over the world.
