Kanyakumari Beach

Kanyakumari Beach set on the tip of the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula in Tamil Nadu has great importance in Indian mythology for the confluence of three water bodies, such as the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean.

It offers spectacular views of sunrise, sunsets and moonrises. The beach has rocks and long stretches of multi-coloured sands. The seashore is rocky and dangerous.

It has a man made wall running along it. The Sangam, where three water bodies meet has a bathing ghat and a sort of lagoon formed in between the lands by a series of rocks.

The famous Vivekananda rock is the place where Swami Vivekananda is said to have meditated. The rock has a statue of Vivekananda and a memorial dedicated to him.
