Chennai Beaches
Marina Beach:
Marina Beach is the most visited beach in South India. It stretches about 4.5 kms and is the second longest beach in the World.
This wide sandy foreshore has Memorials of Anna and MGR, horse riding facility, a large swimming pool and an aquarium.
You can see many joggers here in the early morning. Tourists used to visit here for watching the sunset and sunrise.
The bird's eye view of Chennai from the light house at the beach is really amazing.
Elliot's Beach:
Elliot's Beach is located near Besant Nagar and spreads along the coast down south from Marina.
It has illuminated sand, pavements and good roads. It is quieter than Marina beach and is an ideal place for sea bathing.
The Ashtalakshmi temple and Velankanni church are located at the end of Elliot's Beach.
