Boat Rides
The lapping waters of Lake Chilika offer excellent boating opportunities. The Satkosia gorge also offers boat riding facilities. The sea and surf at Gopalpur-on-Sea is ideal for surfing and sailing in the Blue Bay back-waters.
Trekking
In the Gajapati district, the Mahendragiri hill region is ideal for trekking. In Balasore district, trekking through the Kuldiha jungle in Nilagiri is really a great experience.
Coastal Trekking
The area between Konark and Gopalpur-on-Sea which extends over 160 km of dynamically varied terrain is ideal for coastal trekking.
Safaries
Nandankanan Zoo offers the Lion Safari which is the largest in the country. The visitors can view the animals from closed buses over three kilometres of winding road in the jungle.

Orissa has 62 distinct tribal groups who continue to live in their traditional dwellings amongst the hills and forests. A trip to the tribal areas can be an educative and exciting experience.
